Getting Started
Not at all. Your intern will work hard to impress you because their goal is to get hired, but you're under no obligation. You're simply helping them complete a required step in their vocational training.
Book a quick intro call with our team. We'll ask a few questions about the kind of support you're looking to add, then get you matched with an intern and set up your internship portal.
Just tell your client success manager. They'll send you a payment link for the number of hours you'd like to hire your intern for, and billing begins from there.
All kinds of basic remote admin work — social media posting and replying to comments, list building, cold email campaigns, calendar management, inbox handling, travel booking, customer service, and more. If it can be learned on YouTube, it's fair game.
Billing & Plans
Service is billed weekly. Choose a 20-hour or 40-hour weekly plan, and invoices are simple and predictable — no surprise charges.
No. If you need fewer hours, adjust your plan for the following week instead. This gives your intern stability — they need to know how much time to set aside for you each week.
No. We don't believe in locking you into long-term agreements. Our goal is making sure you're genuinely happy with your assistant — if we fail at that, we don't want a contract keeping you here.
100% of any raise or bonus goes straight to your assistant (minus bank fees). Our fee stays the same — just let us know and we'll adjust your rate for a raise, or invoice you separately for a one-time bonus.
Yes, optional time-tracking software is available for $7.99 per month, which monitors hours worked and takes periodic screenshots while your intern is on the clock.
Working With Your Intern
However works best for you — text, WhatsApp, email, Slack, or anything else. Communicate often so they feel like a real part of your team.
Our interns are based in the Philippines. Some of our team members work US hours, some work a mix, and some don't overlap with US hours at all. You and your intern will agree on a schedule that works for both of you.
Excellent. Most of our interns are from the Philippines, where English is taught and spoken from childhood alongside Tagalog. Strong English communication is one of many reasons we love working with talent there.
Your client success manager checks in weekly with both you and your assistant to catch problems early. If something isn't fixable, we'll replace your assistant with a new one at no additional cost.
We recommend starting with an entry-level assistant. Sharp, hard-working interns can pick up most skills quickly, which gives you better value. Once we've built a relationship, just tell us the specialty you need and we'll run a custom search.
Trust, Security & Compliance
Our assistants work from home, often so they can be close to family. We recommend starting slow with sensitive documents and expanding access as trust builds — the same way you'd approach any new working relationship. Some clients eventually provide dedicated computers or VPN access as that trust grows.
We don't, largely due to the difficulty of doing so across foreign jurisdictions. We recommend building trust gradually, and you're welcome to run your own background check if you'd like.
No. You're contracting with Good Shepherd Staffing, a US company. Every assistant is an independent contractor operating under the laws of their own country — for tax purposes, it works like any other staffing or agency service.
Good Shepherd Staffing is a freelance platform. You aren't hiring a permanent employee — you're paying a freelance contractor through our platform. The freelancer handles their own tax obligations in their country, and you treat them as you would any independent contractor.
We maintain business liability insurance. Any additional insurance coverage you'd like would be up to you to obtain independently.
Not at all. We serve clients of every faith. Our mission is about helping Catholics in developing nations find dignified work close to their families — our clients come from every background.
Referrals
Yes. We pay $0.50 per hour for the lifetime of the relationship for anyone you refer to us who becomes a client.
